Avac United is committed to providing a fair, safe and competitive atmosphere for all teams competing in its tournaments. We have worked with Sports Thread for the past two years and we are excited to announce our third season verifying ages and grades of athletes.

We have listened to feedback from programs and have worked with Sports Thread to enhance our age and grade verification program. Please read the graphic below which outlines the requirements for the 2025 season.

How To Register Your Team & Complete The Verification Process

Registering your team is free, you will be able to use your coach account to register your team for every AVAC event in the 2024 / 2025 season. Please follow these steps to verify your athletes and add them to your roster for the year:

Step 1: 1. Go to avacunited.com and select “Tournaments” 

Step 2: Select your tournament 

Step 3: Select "Register your team"

Step 4:  Select “Login” or “Create Account”. 

Step 5:  Select your team’s age division 


*Note: If you are registering multiple teams you will be returned to this page after creating your first team to select your next team’s division.

Step 6: If you are new to Sports Thread: Select “Create New Team” and add your team information. If you already have a team in the division you are signing up for click to “Select Team”

Click “Next”

Step 7:  Select one of the options: 


Once selected you will receive an invoice email and complete registration

Step 8: Click "Next” 

Step 9: Copy the link(s) displayed and send them to your athletes/parents. 

note if you have more than one team, you’ll get a link for each one. Send the appropriate link to each athlete. The link you provide will dictate the roster they are added to.

IT STARTS WITH A TEAM LINK 

Every team participating in a Play Safe event receives a personalized team link for parents to create their and their athlete’s accounts to receive event information, and complete age verification for their athletes to add them to the roster for the upcoming event. 

THE ATHLETE’S AGE IS VERIFIED 

The athlete is then automatically verified using proprietary technology, which runs more than a dozen checks to authenticate a birth certificate or government ID (including Driver’s License, Permit, Visa Residence Card, Passport, or Passport Card). 

GET YOUR  QR CODE 

Every player participating in a Play Safe event receives a personalized QR code for players to gain gate access to an upcoming event. Go to “My Profile & Tickets” to get access to your code in the “Badges” tab. 

THE TEAM ROSTER IS UPDATED 

Each team’s roster is updated instantly upon each athlete’s successful age verification, giving the coaches the ability to manage their team roster, and allow for a speedy check-in on game day. 

REAL-TIME EVENT INFORMATION 

All coaches, athletes, and parents can then find their game schedules, locations, scores, and more right from the Sports Thread app, including instant notifications for important event information. 

LIVE EVENT RECRUITING 

College coaches attending a tournament can track each player through each team’s schedule where they can click into each age-verified player profile and view athletes, academic standing, season stats, and team info.
